There is a ThinkLight on top of Thinkpad screen. It can't illuminate the keyboard due to its lightenness is so low. It's just a decoration light. So why not add some additional function on the Thinklight.
There is a funly Software plug-ins on pidgin. Its name is blanklight. When you have a new IM message, the Thinklight will flicker three times to inform you receive the new message.
