How to type
1,Decide on what kind of keyboard you want to use.
Most of the time, you'll come across a traditional QWERTY keyboard, but there's also the option of switching to a Dvorak keyboard. The standard QWERTY keyboard layout was designed to prevent typewriter jams (which is no longer necessary with computers), whereas the Dvorak layout was designed specifically to be easy on the hands. However, if you share your computer with others or if you frequently switch computers, the changed layout will be confusing. The remainder of the steps will focus on the QWERTY layout; more information on typing on Dvorak keyboard can be found here.
2,Get in position.
How you sit can affect your typing efficiency. A bad position can result in more errors and slower typing.
3,Put your fingers in the home position.
Place your right index finger on the "J" key and let the other 3 fingers fall naturally onto the "K", "L" and ";" keys. Place your left index finger on the "F" key and let the other 3 finger fall naturally onto the "D", "S", and "A" keys.
4,Type each key from left to right: a s d f j k l ;.
You shouldn't have to move your fingers from their positions, just press the keys that they are resting on.
5,Repeat, but this time capitalize: A S D F J K L :.
Use the shift key. Push it by moving only your pinkie and pressing and holding it while pushing the desired letter with your other hand. I.e.: When the letter you would like capitalized is typed with your left hand, you press the right shift key with your right pinkie. When the letter you would like capitalized is typed with your right hand, you press the left shift key with your left pinkie.
6,Become familiar with the rest of the alphabet and where it is positioned on the keyboard.
7,Get into home position and type, "the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog".
This sentence contains every letter in the alphabet. At first, watch your fingers to make sure they go to the right keys and return to home position. Start off slow, then speed up gradually. Start looking away and at your monitor to make sure you're typing the sentence correctly. Correct any mistakes you make, eventually without looking. If you have a hard time not glancing at the keyboard, buy a typing cover if this is hard for you. They are thin rubber skins that stretch over your keyboard.
8,Practice as much as you can.
You can try typing the alphabet over and over, or you can make up things to type. You can try typing the first word you think of. The more you practice, the better you'll type! Take typing courses, use typing programs, and play typing games. You can even practice by chatting on IM and chat rooms!

Test a Dry Cell Battery
A battery can be tested by means of some wires and bulbs. But it can be tested by means of a blade also. Is it surprising?
How to Test a Dry Cell Battery?
1,Make a coil by winding over a tumbler or any cylindrical objects.
2,Tie the coil at three places and make it to stand perpendicularly to the block of wood.
3,Tie the blade by a thread and hang it at the top part of the coil such that it is parallel to the coil.
4,Connect the ends of the coil to a battery; it will deflect, showing that it has potential in it.
Note:Don't try to send current from main lines.

How to Extend Laptop Battery Life
How to Extend Laptop Battery Life
1,Switch off the wireless card if you do not plan to access your network or Internet connection. For Mac laptops, there is a button for powering on and off your wireless device is found on the toolbar at top.
2,Turn the volume level down, or mute it, if you do not plan to use it.
3,Reduce the LCD's brightness level. If you use your laptop in a well lit area or outdoors on a sunny day, try setting it at two or three bars.
4,Disable Bluetooth. If you don't use this device, you can safely disable it to avoid draining your laptop's battery.
5,Learn to single-task. PC memory that is in-use takes more power to hold data. Also, using more memory might mean using more swap or virtual memory space on your laptop's hard drive. All of this puts an additional drain on your laptop battery. Instead of leaving multiple applications and windows open, use only what you need at any given time. If your laptop has plenty of memory, then keep multiple applications open to avoid loading repeatedly from the hard drive. Close all the applications that run in the background on your computer like your PDA syncing software or USB hard drive backup software.
6,Run simple applications that don't use much RAM, disk drive or processing power. Need to write a letter? Use a basic text editor rather than the processor and RAM heavy Microsoft Word. Graphics heavy applications like games or movie watching are especially hard on the battery.
7,Avoid extreme temperatures. Batteries rely on basic chemistry and will die faster at extreme temperatures. Try to charge and use the battery at room temperatures.[1]
8,Use the power management settings on your computer that come built in. On Windows XP, click "Power Options" in your control panel. On a Mac, look for "Energy Saver" in System Preferences.
9,Unplug external devices such as a USB mouse or an external drive.
10,Shut down or hibernate the laptop rather than using standby, if you plan on not using it for a while. Standby continues to drain energy to keep your laptop ready to go when you open the cover.
11,Clean the contactsClean your battery contacts. Clean the battery's metal contacts with rubbing alcohol on a damp cloth. Clean contacts increase the energy efficiency.
12,Keep the battery fresh. Batteries leak power if they aren't used fairly soon after charging. If you use your "full" battery two weeks after you last charged it, you may discover it is empty.
13,Defrag your hard drive. The more fragmented your hard drive is the more your hard disk needs to work.
14,Avoid using a CD or DVD. If you store a copy of data you need on an optical disc, copy it to your laptop's hard drive or a thumb drive before traveling. Optical drives consume large amounts of power to spin up CDs and DVDs. Try to avoid applications that keep your hard drive or optical drive spinning. Need to play music? Try to use your handheld MP3 player, rather than playing songs on your computer. Playing songs on your computer will keep the hard drive working which uses energy. Turn off the auto save feature on MS Word or Excel. Constant saving will keep your hard drive turning and using energy.
15,Turn off ports. Disabling unused ports and components, such as VGA, Ethernet, PCMCIA, USB, and yes, your wireless, too. You can do this through the Device Manager or by configuring a separate hardware profile.
16,Create Power-Saving Hardware Profiles. Configure your laptop for the various scenarios in which you use it.You can do this through the Hardware Profiles menu by right-clicking on My Computer and selecting Preferences or by using a freeware utility such as SparkleXP.
Use a cooling pad when using a notebook computer on your lap.
Avoid propping your laptop on a pillow, blanket, or other soft surface that can heat up.

About key types of modifiers.
Modifier keys are special keys that modify the normal action of another key, when the two are pressed in combination. For example, + in Microsoft Windows will close the program in an active window. In contrast, pressing just will probably do nothing, unless assigned a specific function in a particular program. By themselves, modifier keys usually do nothing. The most widely-used modifier keys include the Control key, Shift key and the Alt key. The AltGr key is used to access additional symbols for keys, that have three symbols printed on them. On the Macintosh and Apple keyboards, the modifier keys are the Option key and Command key, respectively. On MIT computer keyboards, the Meta key is used as a modifier and for Windows keyboards, there is a Windows key. Compact keyboard layouts often use a Fn key. "Dead keys" allow placement of a diacritic mark, such as an accent, on the following letter.
The Enter/Return key typically causes a command line, window form or dialog box to operate its default function, which is typically to finish an "entry" and begin the desired process. In word processing applications, pressing the enter key ends a paragraph and starts a new one.

Compatibility of apple keyboard.
Apple's oldest keyboards utilizing the phone-style connectors are not compatible with any other systems. However a few open-source projects have since developed adapters which allow them to be used on newer equipment and vice-versa.
Apple's older ADB keyboards are compatible with other ADB-based systems, such as those from Sun, Next, HP and Sony. When using a USB adapter, they function similarly to Apple's later USB keyboards, although there can be problems using such setups with later versions of Mac OS X. According to Griffin, Apple is not maintaining support for ADB with Mac OS X 10.4 or later.
Apple's USB keyboards are mostly compatible with Windows computers, and can be remapped; the Command key works as the Windows key, the Option key as the Alt key, the Help key as the Insert key, and the Clear key as the Num Lock key. On the slightly older all white models the volume keys function as they would on a Macintosh, and the eject key has no function. With the new models released in August 2007 the volume, brightness, Exposé, dashboard, eject and media controls no longer work without installing Apple's Boot Camp software. This software allows for the volume, brightness, eject and media controls buttons to work properly though the Exposé and dashboard buttons still fail to do anything as Windows lacks this functionality.
The USB keyboard is also combined with a two-port USB hub, with the hub being USB 1.1 on older keyboards and USB 2.0 on the August 2007 model. Many new upgardes have been brought on withen the past 2 years, most of all, the switch to USB

Apple and Lenovo Screen Inverter
NEW Apple MacBook A1181 13.3" LCD inverter for Apple laptop
1. P/N Compatibility:08G22UD1200U
2. Each inverter is tested before shipping and are 100% working.
Compatible with:Apple MacBook A1181
The polycarbonate Intel MacBook is easier for users to fix or upgrade than its predecessor. Where the iBook required substantial disassembly to access most internal components, including removal of the keyboard and RAM[5], users need only remove the polycarbonate MacBook's outer shell to access almost any interior component. Replacing the hard drive and memory requires merely the removal of the battery, and Apple provides do-it-yourself manuals for these tasks.
Lenovo Inverter List By Product Part NO:26P8464, 91P7197, 91P7281, AS023163141, AS023163159 A1A, AS023169343-A3A, AS023169351, J15102F, PWB-IV19120T/B5, PWB-IV19120TXF/B5, T18I062.00, T18I062.01, T18I062.02, UL94V-0
List By Product Model NO:ThinkPad G40 Series, ThinkPad G41 Series, Thinkpad T40, Thinkpad T40P, Thinkpad T41, Thinkpad T41P, Thinkpad T42, Thinkpad T42P
As of October 31, 2008, 50.4% of Lenovo is owned by public shareholders, 42.3% by Legend Holdings Limited, 6.6% by Texas Pacific Group (TPG Capital), General Atlantic LLC and Newbridge Capital and 0.7% by the directors. Because the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a Chinese government agency, owns 65% of Legend Holdings, effectively the Chinese government owns about 27% of Lenovo and is the largest shareholder.
IBM became the owner of 18.9% of Lenovo in 2005 as part of Lenovo's acquisition of the IBM personal computing division. Since then IBM has steadily lowered its shareholding in Lenovo. In July 2008 the IBM shareholding went below the 5% reporting disclosure threshold. In February 2009 the CEO Bill Amelio was replaced with Yang Yuanqing.

About floating hinge. floating hinge is a hinge that, while able to behave as a normal hinge, enables one of the objects to move away from the other - hence float. In effect the hinge allows for two parallel axes of rotation, one for each object joined by the hinge, and each axis can be moved relative to the position of the other.
Floating hinges are used in flatbed scanners designed to scan thick objects such as books. A sheet of paper is placed on the glass, and the cover is lowered over it; the glass, the paper, and the sheet are very close together. If a thick book is placed on the glass an ordinary hinge would leave the cover at an angle to the glass. A floating hinge raises the hinged edge of the cover to the level of the book, so that the cover remains parallel to the glass, but raised above it.
Floating hinges are also used in two-plate electric cooking grills, as they allow for even heating of both sides of a thick piece of food without crushing it
